I want to try and arrange a Vatican Cameos flashmob in Toronto.
Don’t know when but I was thinking at the Eden Center.
If any fellow GTA or Hamilton area Sherlockian fans here in Southern Ontario are interested, jut message me or reblog this or tweet me at @SerialDeduction.
Thanks guys!

So a “friend” of mine posted a “small rant” here highlighting a conversation we had on twitter where I mentioned that coming to the UK just to weeb on about Doctor Who and Sherlock was hardly a valid reason to come.
Let me make one thing clear. I really, really, really dislike those fandoms. The shows themselves I like enough, no problem, but it’s what the fanbase are doing and how they’re behaving which is more than borderline unsettling. I live in the UK myself, in London, and one of the first things I’m always asked is oh that’s where doctor who and sherlock are filmed OMG SO LUCKY <3 <3 <3
No. Stop it. Please, stop it. Our country has some of the richest history and culture, and it hurts to see that get smushed aside in favour of Sherlockphiles and Whoaboos deciding to come down just to see where the series they rant and rave over took place. What about the rest of our city; our country? What about the history that isn’t fictional? What about the other attractions we have which Sherlock and Doctor Who haven’t mentioned, do those even exist?
Not to mention all the people who claim they’re “British at heart” or can do a great British accent or some shit like that. I honestly do feel like a Japanese person witnessing weeaboos, with all the talking of how amazing England is and how everyone is planning to come here when they finish school and the majority of them clearly think everything here is exactly like on TV. Or, in a weeaboo’s case, just like in their kawaii desu animes.
I really don’t know how to put this because I’m too fucking annoyed to type straight right now, but I am very very unhappy. I hate that my city is being goggled at for no other reason than a few series were filmed there. Everything I’m seeing on Tumblr is taking anglophile to a whole new level and I know there’s fuck all I can do to stop it, but I sure as fuck intend to exercise my right to complain. All the downright frightening shit with Holmes and Watson being gay (no homophobia on this subject at all, but the original volumes showed no possible allusion to this at all), Doctor Who crossing over with any series they can get their hands on and Rory being so kawaii desu genderbent and the Doctor and Sherlock teaming up, and something about Watson being made out of cats and jam? In Sherlock Holmes, these people were close to middle aged Victorian book characters; you wouldn’t be saying things like that if their actors looked closer to the original films and illustrations.
It just feels wrong that our country has only become a place of widespread interest since these series were released to overseas audiences. I understand that these series are interesting and very well made, but there’s more to the UK than television and there’s no reason to be quite so damn creepy about it.

This was in response to THIS post I made explaining why THE ABOVE is bullshit.
Now my dear followers, what do we think of this?
Is it wrong for fans to want to visit the HISTORICAL LANDMARK that is 221B Baker Street? Or to go to Cardiff to see the Torchwood hub?
I didn’t think so either.
Will reblog details once get on my laptop. This is bullshit.
Okay.
So I mentioned on my purely OOC account (I am starting to get back into RPing and used to be a fairly decent Nightwing if I do say so myself) on Twitter that for my birthday NEXT year I was planning to spend 10 days in Cardiff on a Doctor Who extravaganza and another 4 in London going to Baker Street and the likes for so purely Sherlockian fun. I’ve been to London before and I loved the Natural History Museum and the pubs and Buckingham Palace. The architecture is beautiful and I am in love with the UK.
A friend of mine who I recently made amends with @’s me saying that that is a stupid reason to come to the UK and she hates that “Her city is being treated this way” by Sherlockians and Whovians.
Is it wrong to say that I felt personally offended by that?
I just felt that that was like telling a Potterhead it wasn’t cool to go to Potter-world in Florida or doing the Potter-tours of the filming locations in London. Or telling a Ringer (fan of Lord of the Rings) that it was offensive to the people of New Zealand that they were only touring “their” country because LotR was filmed there. Even TWIHARDS flood Forks in the states! Just because I want to go to England and Wales for fiction television shows and novels doesn’t mean I’m disrespecting the beauty of those countries. I was in Switzerland last year and was too mystified in Lucerne and Zurich to even THINK about Reichenbach Falls.
Bah.
I just feel really annoyed by that comment and the fact that this person compared Sherlock fans in North America that want to go to London to that of the weeaboos who want to go to Japan and become Mangakas.
I want to see 221B Baker St. I don’t want to become a fucking consulting detective. I don’t want to be a war doctor veteran. I don’t want to join Scotland Yard or be part of the government division that seems to know everything.
I was in Austria and was excited to see Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s house. Does that mean I was insulting the people of Salzburg because I wasn’t as excited to see the rest of the city as I was to see the museum of Mozart’s work?
Of all the things that have been bothering me lately, this one just hit a nerve and really hurt.
“I love opening Christmas presents…”
Me, too Doktah…me, tooooo… ;)
To all my friends and followers!
Merry Whomas and a Happy New Sherlock! I love you all and hope that all you’re holiday breaks are just:
FANTASTIC! *insert Eccleston gif here because iPhones don’t upload gifs to Tumblr*
Both of the Doctor Who confessions blogs that I follow seem to have been dead for ages. I was also considering making it a BBC confessions, so it could be applicable to all the BBC shows and fanbases on Tumblr.
What do you guys think?
